Prudentia

In de beweging woont de waan en de gloed
Spieren en pezen rukken ruw rust uiteen
Laarzen schoppen woedende wonden, het bloed
Loopt uit de hoofden, drupt doof langs het slaapbeen

Leni smeet laaiend waarheid op doek, geen wijsheid
Want kennis van het beest temt het monster niet,
Voedt het slechts met voetlicht en lage geilheid
De utopie ontsluit het oorlogsgebied

Licht mij dan bij, schone muze, mijn boeken
Onzichtbaar -mijnwerkers in zwarte aarde-
Zonder jouw ontsluierende lamp, zoeken

Wij samen verder naar een uitweg, happen
Naar de daadkracht, nooit meer domme trekpaarden
Fakkelen wij naar de hemel, ontsnappen

Prudentia

Movements stamp fervour and delusion in stone,
muscles and tendons roughly tear calm apart,
jackboots kick fierce raging wounds and blood drops start
from heads, deafly dripping down the temporal bone.

Leni fiercely sloshed truth onto the screen. No
prudence, for knowing the beast hardly tames it,
just fuels it with floodlights and inflames it.
The Utopian dream opens up the War Zone.

Then light my way, alluring muse, my books are
in the dark, unseen like the earth’s resources  
without your revealing light, and let us map

out our escape from this place together, snap
at this vigour. No longer dull draught horses,
we flare up towards heaven and reach our star.
